Marat is an experienced music educator who teaches piano, composition, music theory and music technology, working with students privately and in schools. He holds an MA in Music from Goldsmiths, University of London, and was a long-standing teacher at the Dar Russian Education Centre.

He has prepared numerous students for piano and theory exams at all levels, with many achieving distinctions and merits. Several have gone on to study music at higher education institutions, some earning scholarships while studying with him.

His approach is rooted in the traditional Russian teaching methodology, which emphasises technical precision and expressive, imaginative performance. Marat tailors his methods to each student, building a strong foundation across music theory, aural skills, solfège, improvisation, musical analysis and sight-reading, while drawing on a wide range of musical styles.
